Featured Story - Kewill builds on existing ICS success and expands connectivity
Kewill is now live with the Import Control System (ICS) in both France and the Czech Republic, and is exchanging real-time data on behalf of its customers with local Customs authorities, and is ready to do the same for the UK and Poland. This follows its announcement that ICS connectivity for Germany and Austria had been successfully achieved and operationally deployed.
The company continues to utilise its extensive customs experience and network of European partners in order to meet the individual ICS requirements of each local customs authority, and is working quickly towards achieving connectivity for all remaining European countries through its suite of electronic customs software solutions; CustomsXchange, Zabis and Air Cargo Pool.
Ritu Rooney, Global Product Manager Freight Forwarding, said, “to keep up with ever-changing legislations, companies have several options. One is to outsource customs compliance to experts such as Kewill, making the entire process both efficient and cost-effective. Alternatively, the completion of electronic submissions from the operating system can be automated, which will help avoid duplication.”
Additionally, technology now available from Kewill enables customs data to be transmitted from the export country and routed to experts in the local country of destination, minimising the internal need for local knowledge.
