Exhibiting at Multimodal 2012 within the RHA stand cluster, Clugston Distribution Services has, over the course of the last six months, announced investments totaling nearly £1.4M.
As part of its strategic growth plan, the company, which as part of Clugston Group of companies is celebrating its 75th anniversary, has invested in 17 Renault Premium tractor units and eight new curtain sided trailers. 8 of the new tractors are fitted with discharge equipment for bulk flour and Industrial Powders whilst a further 5 tractors are ADR and Pet Reg specification.
The company also recently announced the purchase of 4 new 44 tonne tankers, as part of its considered expansion into the fuels distribution market, and 20 Safer Driving Assistants – supplied by CMS SupaTrak – to reinforce its green strategy and commitment to ISO 14001 accreditation by improving drivers driving style and reducing fuel use.
Brandishing Clugston’s new company livery, the trailers and tankers will compliment the specialist steel, building products, bulk food and bulk powder trailers that are already operated by Clugston Distribution from the company’s Scunthorpe and Driffield distribution centres.
David Heath, general manager Clugston Distribution Services commented, "Despite the ongoing recession our strategy is to continue investing for future growth. Whilst developing the business we also however, recognise our responsibilities as far as developing and enhancing our environmental credentials are concerned."
Clugston Distribution Services has the capabilities to meet the wide ranging needs of oil manufacturing, and service companies across the UK. The company has the facilities and expertise to meet all supply chain needs, with a service which is designed to meet individual and specific requirements.
