Project forwarder Tuscor Lloyds has just transported a wheeled loader to Korsakov, Russia for a client in the mining industry.

for a client in the mining industry.

The wheeled loader was required for a mining project in Korsakov on the island of Sakhalin Oblast off the far eastern coast of Russia. This location can be difficult, expensive and timely to reach but Tuscor Lloyds’ award-winning project cargo managers have experience in shipping project cargoes to Russia and this cargo would not be a problem.

The cargo weighed in at 7 tons and had dimensions of 6.3 x 2.4 x 3.1 meters which meant the cargo was best shipped as out of gauge cargo, loaded on to a 40ft flat rack container. Tuscor Lloyds picked up the cargo from the manufacturers and loaded/ secured the wheeled loader to the flat rack container using heavy duty ratchet straps and wooden chocks before transporting the cargo by road to the port of Felixstowe.

Tuscor Lloyds organised for the out of gauge shipment to be loaded onto a container vessel which would ensure reliable schedules for departure/arrival as well as reduced costs when compared to conventional shipping methods.

The cargo arrived at the port of Korsakov and was discharged from the container vessel using onsite cranes, once on the ground the cargo was checked for any damage which could have occurred during ocean transportation. The cargo remained damage free and was delivered to the client on time and within their tight budget.
