Micro-breweries in Coventry and Warwickshire could see their ales on sale in the Far East after an event at the Chamber.
The UKTI international trade team at the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce laid on a special ‘meet the buyer’ event to introduce local suppliers to companies from China, Hong Kong and Macau.
Speciality beer and cider brewers, as well as specialist food manufacturers, were introduced to buyers from Beer Bay Hong Kong and International Fine Foods.
After a series of presentations, the 31 companies in attendance had one-to-one sessions with the buyers.
Ajay Desai, of the Chamber, said: “It’s a thriving sector in Coventry and Warwickshire and has great export potential.
“The Chamber, through our UKTI team, has great links with China, Hong Kong and Macau and this event was a great opportunity to introduce many of our businesses in this field to key people and organisations in that area.
“I am confident it will result in sales for companies from this region in that market.”
Companies were also invited to find out more about a market visit to China and Hong Kong from October 13-17.
