Stanislas Brun, recently appointed Vice President Cargo at Etihad Airways, shares his visions for Etihad Cargo and its further development as a key player in the global air freight market
Congratulations on your new role as Vice President Cargo at Etihad Airways. What attracted you to join Etihad Cargo at this stage in your career?
Etihad Cargo has now celebrated 20 years of history and is definitely on a growth path. Having experience in both passenger and cargo operations, this new opportunity greatly appeals to me and fuels my desire to be part of this exciting adventure. The airline is undergoing exciting growth plans from a network, fleet, and partnership perspective, and I am confident that Etihad Cargo’s development will be notable.
With your extensive experience at Geodis, what key insights and strategies do you plan to bring to Etihad Cargo?
Since I started at Etihad Cargo in March 2024, I’ve prioritised customer focus and the digitalisation of our connections with our suppliers and customers. This customer-centricity is essential to ensure that we prioritise our customers’ needs alongside our principal focus on services, efficiency, and markets. We have already started implementing aggressive plans in a very short time thanks to the great digital infrastructure at Etihad Cargo. In addition, we are gearing up for several exciting announcements in the coming few weeks, which will strengthen Etihad Cargo’s offering to customers.
In your previous role at Geodis, you managed global air cargo operations. How will that experience influence your approach to managing Etihad Cargo’s diverse and expanding network?
I’ve had the opportunity to work in various regions and cities throughout my career. I spent 22 years with Air France KLM Cargo in different roles, ranging from finance to regional director. This extensive experience, combined with my time at Geodis, has given me a deep understanding of market trends, customers’ expectations, and the capabilities of an airline like Etihad Cargo. This background will be crucial in effectively managing Etihad Cargo’s diverse and expanding network and leading the growth plan of the airline and the industry regionally and globally.
