DSV Solutions to operate global warehouse

for Danone division

DSV Solutions in the Netherlands has won a five year contract to operate a global distribution hub for Nutricia Advanced Medical Nutrition (NAMN), a division of Danone. The new 30,000 sq metre Nutricia-dedicated medical warehousing facility will replace the current country-based warehouses and will create around 100 new jobs at DSV, directly next to its existing location at Venlo Tradeport North.

Nutricia Advanced Medical Nutrition provides medical nutrition products such as enteral clinical nutrition, dietary products and disease specific nutrition for children, sick and elderly people under brands such as Neocate, Fortimel, Flocare and Nutrini. Nutricia’s strategy focuses on improving service levels whilst reducing complexity and cost.

DSV has longstanding experience in the healthcare market focusing on biopharma, medical devices, medical products and hospital logistics. “This new cooperation further underlines Nutricia as a key customer for our Healthcare Solutions,” states Niels van Namen, DSV Business Development Director Healthcare.

“We are delighted to further develop our co-operation with Nutricia,” he continues. “Our organisation has grown rapidly over the last few years and with our highly targeted healthcare approach, we are combining our healthcare experience with the strength and creativity of the DSV network.”

Rien van den Heuvel, Managing Director DSV Benelux, explains: “A major advantage in winning this new customer has been the excellent cooperation with local authorities, as well as the real estate developer Goodman, enabling us to quickly respond to Nutricia’s building requirements. Furthermore this new operation reinforces our vision in Venlo as a prime European logistics hub and underlines our historic and strategic commitment to the region”.
