June’s Multimodal 2023

Following an increase of 40% in visitor registrations from last year, the organisers of Multimodal are appealing to the supply chain industry to secure their place at this year’s event.

Held from the 13th to 15th June at Birmingham’s NEC, Multimodal brings together businesses, thought leaders and associations from across the supply chain industry. The most outstanding firms and individuals are recognised at its glittering Awards ceremony on 13th June, with a record 250 entries received for the 2023 event.

The ongoing popularity of Multimodal has driven an increase of 17% of exhibitors, with over 320 businesses attending, up from 275 last year. This means there are additional opportunities for cargo owners and shippers to meet and network with supply chain industry representatives who will be exhibiting over the three days. Joining from a wide range of industries, they will be sharing ways to improve processes and present innovative ideas to solve transport and logistics issues.

The returning exhibitors include Maritime Transport, Malcolm Logistics, Maersk, G&W, DP World, Peel Ports, CMA CGM, COSCO, MSC, CEVA, DSV, Kerry Logistics, Ocean Network Express, CCL, K+N, ABP, Swain, Forth Ports, Montgomery Transport, Samskip, Howard Tenens, Port of Antwerp-Bruges, IAG Cargo, Uniserve and Descartes.

They will be joined by several first-time Multimodal exhibitors, including Nolan Transport, PwC, MG Invest, Calais Promotion, 3squared, ErgoPack, Miran Logistics, Ziegler Group, ICL and Payoneer.

Visitors will also benefit from a cutting-edge line up of speakers during the free, three-day conference. In a new addition to the programme, attendees can also benefit from skills training and mentoring with Google Digital Garage, which will deliver a broad range of digital and social media skills for visitors.

The theatres located inside the NEC will host a range of discussions and presentations. These include:

  • Peak Season Preview 2023
  • Digitalisation of International Trade and Transport
  • A Rail Retail Revolution
  • Roadblocks to sustainable freight – and how to overcome them
  • Cargo integrity
  • The UK’s new approach to import controls – understanding the Target Operating Model

Included amongst the 55 industry speakers attending are:

  • Jon Gore, Head of Primary & Global Logistics, Tesco
  • Sally Wright, Head of Delivery Transport Hub, Nestlé UK and Ireland
  • John Lucy, Director, Liverpool Freeport
  • Hizmy Hassen, Chief Digital & Supply Chain Officer, Apollo Tyres
  • Christian Pryce, Chief Commercial Officer, Port of Dover
  • Joep Kusters, Senior Vice President, Head of Europe, Coyote

New for 2023 is the Google Digital Garage, which offers a range of courses and learning for some of the most sought-after marketing skills, whether visitors are looking to grow their business, start a career, or just want to try something new.

The programme is made up of eight immersive 15-minute power sessions and 11 in-depth 45-minute sessions covering topics such as:

  • Digital Marketing Strategy
  • Boost Online Sales with a Google Business Profile
  • Writing for social media
  • Build Engaging Presentations
  • Get Your Business Visible on Google

Multimodal 2023 Event Director Robert Jervis is delighted with the interest for each element of the event. He commented: “With only a couple of weeks to go until we open the doors, we can promise visitors and exhibitors a fantastic event. We will be welcoming a number of new exhibitors, and the conference space will host some amazing industry speakers.

“What makes Multimodal so popular is enabling so many sectors of the supply chain industry to come together. It is a unique event which caters for a range of sectors and requirements, both from a networking perspective and from keeping on top of what’s happening in the industry. We’ve added extra floorspace to this year’s event making it possible for additional representatives of the supply chain to attend.

“I would encourage anyone thinking of visiting to book their free ticket now.”
