Logistics UK to launch 2020 Van Security Report

There were 11,729 recorded incidents of contents theft from vans/light commercial vehicles in the first six months of 2020, according to Logistics UK’s Van Security Report. So how can operators foil would-be thieves and protect their valuable vehicles?  Denise Beedell, Logistics UK’s Policy Manager for Vans and Urban, will be launching the report at the virtual Van Operational Briefing on 6 November 2020, with a presentation on how to minimise the risk of these potentially costly thefts.

Ms Beedell comments: “On average, organisations surveyed by Logistics UK have had items stolen from their vans four times in the past 12 months, costing each business around £4,250 in total. Vans are essential to UK businesses and we must ensure operators are aware of theft risks and are up to date on guidance for minimising them. Logistics UK’s Van Operational Briefing is the perfect opportunity to identify ways to minimise risk and ensure that vans stay on the road, serving British businesses.”

The event – sponsored by The AA, Bott Ltd, Brigade Electronics, Hertz UK, Lex Autolease, Quartix and TVL – will use state-of-the-art technology to create an engaging and immersive experience.

Delegates will have the opportunity to engage with leading logistics industry suppliers online in the virtual Exhibition Hall, as well as having the option to download brochures, thought leadership content and whitepapers showcasing the latest technical innovations.

Other topics to be covered include fleet electrification, enforcement and trailer safety, and recent developments on urban restrictions, such as the latest information on air quality schemes.
