Peel Ports Group has announced the appointment of Gareth Davies as Sales Director for the Port of Liverpool, as it looks to strengthen commercial growth and improve customer-focused solutions. In this new role, Gareth will work closely with customers to deliver port-centric services that support more efficient supply chains across a range of sectors, including containers, biomass, metals, and project cargo.
Gareth brings over 30 years of experience in multimodal logistics, having held senior roles at major logistics firms including DB Schenker Rail (UK) and Den Hartogh Logistics. Most recently, he was with Wincanton, where he led bulk transport operations. His broad industry knowledge and leadership expertise position him to play a vital role in expanding Peel Ports’ commercial capabilities and supporting customers’ evolving needs.
Speaking about his new role, Gareth said: “Supply chain inefficiencies are creating significant challenges for businesses across the UK. We want to play our part in optimising supply chains for industries handling project cargo, bulk materials, RoRo cargo, and more—helping them streamline their logistics operations.
“The Port of Liverpool is iconic. It sits at the heart of the UK’s supply chain, and I’m excited to be joining a fantastic team that’s already delivering great results.”
Phil Hall, Mersey Port Director at Peel Ports Group, welcomed Gareth’s appointment: “Gareth brings a wealth of experience to this role, and we’re excited to see him nurture the strong relationships we’ve built with our customers. His knowledge of the logistics industry will prove invaluable as we continue to grow and evolve.”
