Qatar Airways Group appoints Group Chief Executive

Qatar Airways Group has officially announced that, after an illustrious 27-year tenure, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, the current Group Chief Executive Officer, will step down from his role on November 5th, 2023. He will be succeeded by Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, who will take on the role of Group Chief Executive for Qatar Airways.

Under the guidance of H.E. Mr. Akbar Al Baker, Qatar Airways has evolved into a globally renowned and trusted brand known for its exceptional customer service and unwavering commitment to the highest standards. As the national airline of the State of Qatar, it has achieved the remarkable feat of being named the “World’s Best Airline” seven times. Additionally, the management and operation of Hamad International Airport, under Qatar Airways’ purview, has earned recognition as the “World’s Best Airport.”
